Water Activity Centre

Saltash Passage, Plymouth

What we offer:

Group instruction in kayaking, dinghy sailing and rowing.

Accommodation:

Accommodation is not available at the centre. Application for both indoor and outdoor camping facilities can be made to either Blindman’s Wood, Foxcove or Callisham Cross campsites – details of these campsites can be provided by our Warden.

Facilities:

Changing facilities and limited toilets for both sexes are available. Hot drinks can be prepared on the premises. The adjacent Public House provides bar snacks.

Boats:

Sailing dinghies, kayaks and rowing boats are available. All necessary equipment including lifejackets/buoyancy aids, waterproof jackets, oars and paddles are supplied at no extra charge.

An outboard powered craft is available for safety boat cover on day trips and if required for sessions.

Advice:

Bring a change of clothes and a towel for drying. Light footwear such as old plimsolls or wet suit boots ­must be worn for sailing or kayaking.

Instruction:

We can provide kayak instruction from complete novice to the equivalent of BCU 2 star level and dinghy sailing and rowing.

Charges:

Groups from within Plymouth Scout District £5 per person, per session

Groups from outside Plymouth Scouting District £7.50 per person, per session
